Officer S. Croal and Officer G. Howard were dispatched to a retail store on the report of a shoplifting in progress. The responding officers received information from loss prevention employees that a female was removing security tags from merchandise and concealing the items into a reusable bag.  PO Howard located and stopped the female near Kinderkamack Road.  Loss prevention advised that the suspect attempted to bypass all points of sales without paying for the stolen merchandise and fled the scene when confronted by loss prevention.  The defendant, a 30-year-old female from Passaic, NJ, was taken into custody and charged on a complaint summons for Shoplifting (3rd deg.).  The defendant was ultimately transported to a local hospital for a medical episode, released on her own recognizance, and is scheduled to appear in Central Judicial Processing (CJP) Court in Hackensack.
