In early August a local business reported receiving a bad check from a customer during a large supply order transaction. A subsequent investigation by the Emerson Detective Bureau identified the customer as a 64-year-old male from Washington Township, NJ. Formal charges were filed by DSgt D. Kearns for violations of N.J.S.A 2C:21-5C (3rd Degree) Bad Checks in the amount of $4,841. The defendant was given a mandatory court date at Bergen County Superior Court to answer for those Criminal Offenses.
