The Emerson Police Department received a report of a fight in progress in the area of Kinderkamack Road and Locust Avenue. Officers C. Merkle, C. Murphy, responded to the scene and located an 18-year-old male from Washington Township, NJ with an abrasion on his chin. Further investigation, which included DSgt. D. Kearns, determined that the 18-year-old male was driving north in a car with friends on Kinderkamack road when they noticed a male walking down the road.  The car pulled over, all occupants exited the vehicle and approached the male, who happened to be a juvenile and unknown to the others.  A verbal altercation was exchanged between the 18-year-old and the juvenile, which led to a physical fight.  The juvenile sustained a laceration to his right hand and left knee. The 18-year-old actor was determined to be the primary aggressor, placed under arrest and was transported to Emerson Police Headquarters for processing.  The defendant was charged on a complaint summons for Simple Assault and released on his own recognizance after being issued a court appearance date with the Emerson Municipal Court.
