A local retail store loss prevention advised of an Organized Retail Theft group that has been impacting multiple retail locations across Northern New Jersey / New York area stores. Subsequent to an investigation by the loss prevention employees, Officer J. Schwarz and Officer J. Chichizola, a 43-year-old male from Bronx, NY and a 46-year-old male from Bronx, NY, were identified as co-conspirators in several shopliftings, and were confirmed to be involved in shoplifting incidents in Emerson on March 28, 2026, April 11, 2026, and May 4, 2026. The total loss to the Emerson retail store between the three shoplifting incidents was approximated at $4,300.  It was reported by the retail loss prevention employees that the estimated total loss by this organized retail group was approximately $50,000 through NY, NJ, and DE. Officer Schwarz generated a complaint warrant and charged the absentee defendants with (3) counts of Shoplifting (3rd Deg) and (1) count of Conspiracy to commit 3rd degree shoplifting, and (1) count of 2C:20-11.2, Leader of an organized retail theft enterprise (2nd Deg.).
