Officers J. Schwarz and J. Chichizola were dispatched to Dyer Avenue for a report of a missing person. While searching for the individual, Officer J. Chichizola located the person operating his vehicle on Dyer Avenue. The driver/missing person, a 38-year-old male from Emerson, NJ, displayed signs of intoxication and performed field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the roadside investigation, it was determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided two (2) breath samples with a reading of .18% BAC. The driver was charged with D.W.I. and was issued a pending court appearance date with the Emerson Municipal Court.
