While performing motor patrol in the area of Forest Avenue, Officer J. Schwarz effectuated a motor vehicle stop for multiple equipment violations. During Officer Schwarz’s roadside investigation, PO Schwarz observed that the rear seat passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. Officer Schwarz’s investigation further revealed that the rear seat passenger, a 28-year-old male from Paterson, NJ, had (1) active ACS warrant for contempt of court from Roxbury Township Municipal Court for $2,500. With assistance from Officer J. Chichizola, it was also learned that the driver, a 28-year-old male from Paterson, NJ, had (1) active NCIC warrant from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. Both individuals were taken into custody. The passenger was released on his own recognizance after being issued a new court date and one summons with apending court appearance date in Emerson. The driver was issued one summons and turned over to the custody of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office from the scene and was remanded to the Bergen County Correctional and Rehabilitation Center.
