10:47 PM (1 Municipal Pl.): Officer M. Martino and Sgt. C. Bova responded into Emerson PD Headquarters to aid in a child custody exchange. Prior to the exchange, the mother of the child reported a possible outstanding warrant for a violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO) by the other parent. A computer check was conducted by officers and confirmed that the suspect, a 45-year-old male from Smithtown, NY, had an active warrant out of Garfield PD. The suspect was arrested and turned over to Garfield PD for the active ACS warrant. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
