Officers K. Cullen and C. Murphy responded to a reported domestic dispute on Eagle drive in Emerson. During the process of the incident investigation, one of the involved parties attempted to leave the scene via motor vehicle. A motor vehicle stop was initiated by Officer C. Murphy. The vehicle operator, a 53-year-old female from Emerson NJ, displayed multiple signs of impairment. The subject driver failed to pass the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’s) and was suspected to be under the influence while operating the subject vehicle. The driver/defendant was placed under arrest and was transported to the Emerson Police Department for processing. The driver/defendant was charged with (1) count of Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and issued a mandatory court appearance at the Emerson Municipal Court.
