On 8/27/25, Det. T. McDermott received a report of fraud from a local business. The business stated that a fraudulent credit card was used in one of their sales and that they were unable to recover their property.   An in-depth investigation by Det. McDermott identified a 67-year-old male from Little Ferry, NJ who received the stolen merchandise through a Facebook Marketplace transaction.  The absentee defendant was charged on a complaint summons for Receiving Stolen Property (3rd Deg) with a pending court appearance date in the Central Judicial Processing (CJP) Court in Hackensack.
