While on patrol with the Bergen County Crime Suppression Team, Officer J. Schwarz observed a black Honda Accord with multiple equipment violations, and furthermore observed the operator of the vehicle using a handheld cellphone while exiting a parking lot. Officer Schwarz and his partner initiated a traffic stop, which developed information linking the vehicle to a series of shoplifting incidents across Bergen County.  During the roadside investigation, it was determined that the driver, a 38-year-old female from Garfield, NJ, had an active ACS warrant out of the City of Hackensack (Warrant No. S-2025-000225) in the amount of $1,500.
Hackensack Police Department was notified and responded to the scene to assume custody of the driver, who was subsequently remanded to Bergen County Jail without incident.
