Officers Chichizola, Cullen and Schwarz responded to Kinderkamack Road for a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred at a local retail store. Loss prevention officer from the store followed the vehicle provided updates on the location of the suspect vehicle to the officers. Officers’ Chichizola and Schwarz located the vehicle and performed a motor vehicle stop. Subsequent to a roadside investigation, both occupants of the vehicle were arrested and transported to HQ for arrest processing. The passenger, a 25-year-old homeless male, was charged on a complaint summons for Shoplifting (3rd Deg.) and False Government Documents (4th Deg.). He was issued a mandatory CJP court date and was released on his own recognizance. The driver, a 41-year-old male from Clifton, NJ, was issued multiple motor vehicle summonses, was charged on complaint Warrant for Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting (3rd Deg.), and was ultimately transported to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance.
