While performing motor patrol, Officer T. Solimando initiated a motor vehicle for multiple traffic infractions. The driver, a 29-year-old male from Detroit, MI, performed field sobriety tests, and at the conclusion of the roadside investigation, it was determined that the driver was driving under the influence. The driver proceeded to flee the scene and was quickly apprehended with the assistance of PO Scheidle and Paramus PD, who was on scene with language interpretation. The suspect was arrested and transported to police headquarters.  The driver was charged with D.U.I., issued multiple traffic citations, as well as Resisting Arrest (4th).  The suspect was issued a mandatory court appearance date in Emerson Municipal Court for the D.U.I. as well as a pending court appearance date in the Central Judicial Processing (CJP) Court in Hackensack for the criminal charge.
