Weapons Offense, False Public Alarm, Endangering Welfare of Children

Officers Croal and Sgt. Kalyoussef were dispatched to a report of a gas leak at a housing complex on Kinderkamack Rd.   PO Croal was first to arrive on scene and spoke with the caller, a 43 year old female resident, who had exited a vehicle that she was sitting in with her child.  While speaking to PO Croal she admitted that there was no gas leak in the building.  She then stated that she had a firearm in her possession, at such time she raised her arms exposing the firearm in her waist band.  PO Croal removed the firearm and with Sgt. Kalyousssef took the woman into custody.  The woman was charged with Weapon Possession (Second-Degree), Causing False Public Alarm (Third-Degree) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Third-Degree).  All complaints were placed on a warrant and the woman was remanded to the Bergen County Jail.
