On Monday, January 23, 2023, at approximately 9:38am, PO Justin Schwarz stopped a motor vehicle on Forest Avenue for tinted windows and impeding traffic. Once the vehicle was stopped on Forest Avenue, and obtaining the driver’s information, PO Schwarz determined that the operator, Francisco Amaral-Figueiredo, had an active arrest warrant from the US District Court of Texas that was issued by the Department of Homeland Security, for conspiracy to encourage and induce the illegal entry of aliens, encouraging and inducing the illegal entry of aliens, and conspiracy. Mr. Amaral-Figueriredo was taken into custody and transported to the Bergen County Jail pending extradition.
