Sergeant Joseph Alasio

Shield Number 832

I began my law enforcement career with the Cliffside Park in 1997, and I was appointed as a Regular Police Officer in 2000. I graduated at the top of my class from the Bergen County Police Academy, receiving the “Almer’s Award for Academic Achievement.” While with the Cliffside Park Police Department, I earned commendations for my DWI enforcement record as well as a Departmental Unit Citation. I transferred to the Emerson Police Department in September 2002 and I am currently assigned to the Patrol Division. As a certified Community Policing Officer, I initiated the “Premier Edition” of the Cop Card Program in 2003. During my 10 years in the Emerson Police Department I’ve been trained as a Firearms Instructor and a Field Training Officer. I’ve been recognized for my DWI enforcement record and for assisting in delivering a baby!  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am very proud of the work that the Emerson Police Department does for the Community that we serve. I am proud of and grateful to the Officers with whom I work and I am reminded everyday how blessed I am to be a Police Officer in the Borough of Emerson.
